Network Aims & Objectives

  • To provide a peer support and learning network across the Sector for Health and Wellbeing on the Island;
  • To provide an opportunity for members to share issues, discuss challenges and identify and solve problems;
  • To provide a platform for collective action and a coherent voice for the sector as a whole on the Island;
  • To explore opportunities for joint marketing and promotion so as to raise the level of awareness as to the range and benefits of service delivery in the local community and to provide an access information point for the general public and other healthcare professionals;
  • To work collaboratively to develop events, conferences and other opportunities for professional development and to collectively inform and advise the general public;
  • To provide a co-ordinated professional alliance capable of disseminating information and developing links with other professional bodies, committees and agencies at both a local and national level;
  • To develop a representative function capable of articulating the needs of the sector on the Island and working to ensure they are included within local strategic development plans;
  • To provide enhanced communication between the Island sector and mainstream healthcare providers eg. The NHS;
  • To work collaboratively to create an alliance with generic best practice standards.

The network strives to achieve these aims through regular network meetings and events and through the Health and Wellbeing Directory.
